two-stage filter system (coarse/fine filter) offering a 99.9% capture rate.
filter bag for 12 kg of blasting material.**
portable and easily moved on rollers.
automatic activator switch for the connection of electrical units (connection power of 6–2,400 Watt) or, if desired, manual operation.
infinitely adjustable extraction power control up to max. 3400 l/min.
quick-release closures provide easy opening for filter replacement.
3 m long, flexible suction hose.
* Please note: The Vortex compact 2 L collector motor is excluded from the guarantee due to system related reasons. The motor is subject to wear, depending upon frequency of use and selected extraction level / power. The service life varies greatly according to demand. The average life span is approx. 800hrs.
** The filter material meets the EN-60335-2-69 standard, tested for dust category ”L” (health endangering dust with a MAK value > 1mg/m³).
Allow the extraction to cool down for approx. 5 minutes; if the cleaner does not start again automatically, contact the Service Department
The motor is worn out.
At the end of the motor's service life (approx. 800 hours) the motor will be cut off suddenly. The motor or the brushes respectively needs to replaced.
connected electric tool defective or not properly connected
Check function of connected electric tool or push in plug firmly.
The power consumption of the connected appliance is too low.
The Vortex motor will be activated only, if the power consumption of the connected unit is higher than 6 watt. Some handpiece reaches this value at higher speed only. An adjustment of this activation level is not possible.
At the connected unit the lighting system failed.
If the connected unit's lighting system fails, the power consumption drops to a value which doesn't allow the vortex motor to start. Please troubleshoot the connected unit first.
Using the unit in automatic mode, the motor runs permanetely?
The power consumption of the connected appliance is too high.
The Vortex motor will be activated if the power consumption of the connected unit is higher than 6 watt. Some handpiece reaches this value also in stand by mode. An adjustment of this activation level is not possible. But sometimes the problem can be solved by using an external multiple-socket outlet with master-slave control.
What is the difference between Vortex 2L and Vortex EC 2L?
The only difference between the Vortex and Vortex EC is the motor technology.
The Vortex is provided with a universal motor. This type of motor works with so called carbon brushes which are limited in their service life. Especially in case of the usage with a frequent start and stop (e.g. as a workbench extractor unit) may result in a reduced service life of the carbon brushes. This will cause an exchange of the brushes or motor by the Renfert service. In order to reduce such signs of wear the EC (Electronic Commuting) technology was introduced. Instead of the carbon brushes a electronic controlled magnetic field will be used for power transfer. This allows a 8 to 10 times longer service life compared to a universal motor. Needless to say that this motor technology causes a certain price difference. Our recommendation: If the extraction unit runs more than 1 hour per day, you should use a Vortex EC unit.
